Thank you for sharing your heart in its downcastedness~ is that a word? I liked reading about how Morgan had a good time! So did Chris! And yet~ he wasn’t entirely meant for this world~ so hard to continue to reconcile it. Sending blue herons!
I get fewer signs these days as well. I equate is to "city living" as I am not out in nature to see the many signs I used to see, Plus the city is so crowded with lost souls-almost like when the phone lines were all busy on holidays, remember? So I was especially moved to get a sign from my best dog, Ruby. I buy a calendar every year from The Grey Muzzle Organization, for support and I just like the photos of old dogs. I was already through the first week in March when I noticed a photo of RUBY in the bottom corner. I did not enter her photo in a contest and have no idea how it got there, but there she was, my girl in the bottom corner nearest to my desk...and my heart.

I am so sorry to learn of the recent loss of your friend in India. Maybe you will have an opportunity to minister to his parents in some way.
Glad your hubby is doing well! I know that is a relief fur both of you.
I identify with so much of what you have written. This past Tuesday marked 12 years since Cullen’s death. While we experience both peace and acceptance in this season, the missing is always there. We speak of him a lot within our family circle and quote many of his “one liners”. You would have like him! I hope that perhaps he and Morgan have met and shared some good talks.
Hi Susan. Great to hear from you! I like to think the same thing. That our connections here automatically make them connected up there. Morgan was kind of a foodie so she will certainly be appreciating his talents up there, too. I am sure I would have liked him! I'm sure you are having a good time with your little toddler grandson making things interesting. Take care!
Oh Joan! I am so sorry about your friend. But so happy your husband is doing as well as can be expected. Mo is always with you, and we remember her along with you. I will keep praying for all of you.
Thanks for the very human report on how your grief is going.
As your handle says - I can't imagine. If heart ache drives us into deeper trust and faith - even with the inevitable struggle - then I see it serving an important purpose. As you know better than many.
Whatever is going on, that Loving Presence is holding us each. Thank you, Joan.
May you know grace, feel relief and continue to do what only you can do. Blessings. 💕
Hi Kathleen. Thank you for your words and I could not make it without the Loving Presence of God and Him working that presence through so many humans in my life, including you. Blessings to you in return!
Hi Joan, I will certainly be praying for you and your husband and family and also for the family in India . I am so sorry for their loss and I feel the same way you do. I hope and pray God gives everyone a chance to receive the gospel and Christ as their savior, even if it’s in their spirit on their deathbed bed.
Unfortunately, I have not followed Rebel’s Hike . My brother fell and broke his hip and he is divorced with no children so I had to take care of him starting in November. Fortunately, he made pretty much a complete recovery but during all that he got a 10 mm kidney stone plus a bunch of smaller ones, and they had to be removed surgically as well. I have a great niece who is going to be 11 in May. Would that be a good age for the book? If so, I’m definitely going to buy that for her!
Keep us posted on everything and God be with you all, always! Thank you for always being so encouraging and joyful!
Hi Bellatrix. What a blessing of a sister you are. I hope he appreciates you! Terrible agony for him. I hope he recuperates fully. Yes, 11 is an almost perfect age. You can listen to the chapters one by one on that substack to see if you agree it's appropriate for her. Thank you!
Thank you! Her older sister is 14 and an avid reader. I bet she will enjoy as well!
Oh, I saw this quote today in one of the blogs I subscribe to and immediately thought of you!
There is nothing which so certifies the genuineness of a man’s faith as his patience and his patient endurance, his keeping on steadily in spite of everything.
Joan, I just came to say thank you for writing. I have already mentioned that I have recently lost my beloved sister and I understand grief from that perspective. I fight with sadness all the time. I feel like it will always be a part of me now (the fighting back sadness). I am always encouraged by your writings. I hope my post encourages you too. Much love from a New Mexico friend. Debbie. - 🙏 God, please send more blessings to my friend and lighten her heart. AMEN.
Hi Debbie! Like I said, those who have lost somebody who meant everything to them understand the way life changed. I'm so sorry for your loss and I pray God will provide you comfort. If my writing my heart helps, I count that as special. Please take care!

So hard to reconcile. Thanks, Sally!

They were so loved, God shows us great reminders sometimes if we’re open to it. Way to go Ruby! What kind was she again?
Red Heeler. She loved to run and swim!!

Joan - prayers for you and your husband. I purchased your book. Still need to start reading it. 😘❤️🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much on both accounts, Laura. It's a pretty fast read since it is almost all dialogue. I hope you enjoy it!

Yes, I’m hopeful she will also enjoy it. Thank you for that very nice compliment!
