I do my prayers at night before I go to sleep. It may not be the best time to devote to it as sometimes I fall asleep before praying but I’m a light sleeper and wake up several times a night, so if I fall asleep before praying I pray at some point in the night. That’s my quiet time. I also like to take time for self reflection and believe it is powerful at keeping me accountable and pushing me to be a better version of myself. It can also cause you to go down a rabbit hole and cause you to be too self critical so I need to keep myself in check when I do that.
I like the idea of starting my day off with prayer...food for thought for me
I always did night as well until I started doing the mornings in 2016 I think. I would almost always fall asleep. Mornings were rush rush to get to work so that didn't work at the time like it does now.
My morning habit of prayer and devotion had been sporadic until 2020 or so. It was there, ingrained in me from my childhood, but not consistent. Then God flipped the switch for me with 2020's insanity, which we all know continues. It has been an incredible blessing....the shift in how I focus. I will check out that app. One that I use (in email form) is First15. It has been amazing how many times one of the email devotions I receive has been just the message or verse I needed for the day.
The sentiments in the poem you shared are beautiful, and I know Morgan wants you to care for yourself and be happy.
I wrote then edited, and my whole comment disappeared after the edit so you may get two from me in email. Ugh.
Thank you. I agree it just starts the day in the best possible mindset and it is a blessing. YouVersion also saves anything you highlight in a spot you can go to, and you can look at any verse in multiple translations.
I hope your case is progressing positively and you have great support. I continue to "send light particles to you." 🙏
Thanks for sharing from the depths of your heart Joan , your faith in our awesome God thru this is so encouraging! 🙏❤️😘
