Hubby and I just finished watching a movie on Amazon Prime called Way Back. I barely looked at what it was about, other than it being about a coach who needed to improve himself while improving a high school basketball team. I'm a sucker for these types of movies if the acting is good, which it was. Ben Affleck was the lead. What we didn't know was that the reason he had fallen down in his life was because he'd lost his 9 year old son to cancer.
The way he handled his grief is probably textbook when a person doesn't turn to God and trust that He is good, even when we are suffering. He became a raging alcoholic and his marriage broke up. I am sure it is very common. It really makes you feel bad for the constant suffering and anger. I couldn't live like that either.
Happy Memorial Day everyone!
Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good (encouraging) word makes it glad.
Proverbs 12:25 AMP
I’ve never understood the term Happy Memorial Day. It’s a day of remembrance for those that died for our freedom. Our country is so lost. I truly hope you and hubby enjoy the holiday.
