I find that the signs get more frequent during certain times, like the time of their passing, their birthdays, and when I need it the most.
Recently, I had to mail off a bound appellate brief to the 9th Circuit-I do NOT practice at that level at this was the biggest thing yet in my career. I have to drop them off in 2 parts as I could not afford the binding all at once. I went to pick up the 2nd batch, with the 1st batch in tow, hoping to mail them all off from Staples, who could not mail them, as they were all too heavy together. Ergo, I packed everything up, and went to find a post office on a Saturday. I found one with a kiosk in the area, so I drove over there in the pouring Houston rain. They had to be mailed by that date under court rules or the whole appeal would get tossed out. I pulled into the unoccupied post office parking lot when suddenly the rain stopped, and I saw 2 wild turkeys were milling about out in front. My 2 besties, both gone now, were lovers of Wild Turkey Whiskey, even collecting the little statuettes and I have never seen a wild turkey in midtown before, much less 2, looking happy as clams, in front of the urban post office. As I was adhering the final postage, both turkeys walked past the double doors, as nonchalant as could be. Sherry and Arienne? I certainly thought so and thanked my girls for always having my back. Even from over the rainbow.
Well that sounds extremely stressful, yet you found just the right place where your turkey "friends" were hanging out to cheer you on. I can't imagine wild turkeys in Houston! I know you and I are both open to the signs that are given, and maybe that is all that it takes. Our heart, our desire, and openness. Good luck with whatever that case is!
Thank you for sharing your journey of grief. I just added that passage from 1 John to the list of verses that have carried me through this time. Take great comfort that you know she is with the Lord, and that you will be reunited.
Ecclesiastes 3:2-8 “There is a time for everything,…a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, … a time to be silent and a time to speak…”
This is part of your time to mourn and a time to speak, to share your heart and provide witness to others.
Thanks for the encouragement, Jennifer. The counselor recommended the "Help" verses to me as well. This is a good time to add that one from Ecclesiastes. I hadn't thought about it being my time to speak, but you are right. Are you old enough to know the song made from it?
Wow!!

My Dad loved it, so yes, it is a beautiful song....
This was a really good post tonight. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for your encouragement!
I love that Morgan talked about the mansions in heaven. What a great scripture to remind you of her!
