I think you are right. I don't know where it would be scripturally, but perhaps the experience in the afterlife is somewhat of a reflection of the amount of love we gave, felt, something. Not as salvation itself (works), but the kind of heaven. I'll look further into it sometime. And yes, ad described by those with NDE, we cannot comprehend the feeling of love in that realm.
