I think these types of Christians are more likely to turn people off of Christianity than turn people on - it's very infuriating. It is condescending and unnecessary to make someone feel less than. Good for you for speaking up!
I could not agree more, Jenny. They do not see the speck in their own eye, only the log in somebody else's, the exact opposite of what that Scripture they spend so much time reading tells them to do. They think THEY have the eyes to see and ears to hear, but they do not. They are not showing love. It can be very hard to show love, especially to those who come off as unlovable, which is why we need God to strengthen us when we are week. All Him!
So very, very sorry to learn of your husband’s diagnosis but am thankful he is getting excellent attention and care. I apologize for not yet getting into your book, honestly have little time for reading other than what I have to read for my job….and that is just to keep up. I read an article now and again that is work/ministry related but that is about it. I know you are a gifted writer, and I wish you all the best!
Please keep me posted as to how things are progressing and I am sending hugs to you and Marilyn. With love, Susan
Hi Susan. Great to hear from you, and I understand how busy things can be. I hope you and all your family is well. Thanks for the encouragement. Hugs back!
100% Joan - “Sometimes tragedy strikes and God uses other people to get us through it, when only the words of scripture are not enough. He’ll use people, he’ll use nature, he’ll use songs." Continued prayers for your husband's recovery and for the success of the book. For those of you who haven't read it, I really enjoyed The Rebel's Hike even though it was written for a much younger audience. To the point Joan made in responding to the blogger, sometimes it takes disaster to help us see and understand what we need to see. That is what happens to several teens in The Rebel's Hike, and it turns them to God.
I love the "Hard Fought Hallelujah" and Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll too--such good truth. I am so sorry to hear about hubs--that is so hard. I am so thankful that he has you and seems to be working several avenues towards complete healing. I will be praying for his body, heart and soul-to be reminded of God's amazing presence in his life, and for God to bring healing to his pancreas.
I so enjoyed our visit. It was 3 forever until my son got married. His wife has 2 daughters that we get to love. They blessed us with Lizzie. So thankful Monty got to know and love her. I just never changed it to Coco of 6. Guess I need to do that.
Thanks Coco! I was thinking the other day after we talked. You've been with me from very early on, and you have always been Coco of 3, but yet now there is a 17 month old. Am I missing something??

Do you follow Dr. William Makis on Substack?
Thanks, Laura. I don't follow him but definitely know of him. Started his protocol immediately.
I am so happy to know this. I wasn’t sure if I should ask. Glad I did.
The song with Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake made me cry. It was beautiful. I will continue to pray for you and hubby. Powerful post today.
