I think I like this new title format better.
I'm still riding that high from what happened yesterday. I feel just different- stronger I guess, dare I say that my heart just now feels a little lighter; practically normal? I'm just very thankful for that and I hope it lasts. I guess to use that water analogy, I'm near the beach in calm waters right now. I won't kid myself to think a wave will never come crashing up again though.
Today my young friend, S, and I had a “working lunch” to try to work on more of our book. I was thinking maybe we could get it finished (after going on 2 years) over the summer, but that might be too optimistic. I'll have to devote a lot more time to it, and I just don't know if I will. We both like our book though!
I didn't walk until after dinner, and this with an awesome friend and our dogs. We walked the route with The Spot. I might just have to do more after dinner walks this time of year when the sun is not as hot.
Open Thread is to comment about anything at all, so if you find yourself up in the middle of the night and have a thought to share, please do! Thanks for reading.
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.
Revelation 21:5-6 NIV
Plenty of exercise as we served many. Purple hull peas have always been a staple in our area of East Texas. When you shell them you end up with purple fingers. Noonday onions are the sweetest onions ever. The soil plays a big part. My great aunts in Huntsville made great pickles and their neighbor produces wonder peaches. Such fond memories.
It was hot here today. The food pantry where I volunteer was very busy. I was exhausted when I got home but I still had work and supper to attend to. Our neighborhood gathered for a happy hour of sorts. It was a lovely evening and walking across the street was all the exercise I got. So glad you had a good day. Supper was purple hull peas, cornbread, tomatoes and Noonday onions. Life was good today and I’m so glad you had a good day.
