Today was an early morning out the door as hubby had entered his first open water swim race since 2019. This was a “short” 2-miler right here in Huntsville and the Tennessee River current was very strong so it was difficult for everyone. He doesn't want me to say how he did, but y’all he did very well!
We were waiting around with others while more finishers came in and waited for the awards ceremony. While he was swimming, I'd gone on my own walk in the area while listening to a sermon a friend had sent to me. I hadn't quite finished it, so put the headphones in and just stood there facing the river when something caught my eye.
A very large great blue heron was flying in the distance, landed, and perched at the top of a tall tree. I was SO happy to finally see “her” again. I felt like she had made her presence known and she was so proud of her dad for moving forward in a very positive direction even though he suffers daily from her loss. She was there to say, “I saw what you did.”
The zoomed in photo is first where you’ll see her right in the center, but in the second photo you can see where it really was, just above the center of the picture between the two women in burgundy shirts.
I guess the travels and everything caught up with me today because I’m just super tired. Hoping for a good night's sleep.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
This sign was on our way to the swim event. We got a huge kick out of it and neither of us had ever seen this particular type of road sign before. Have any of you?
That is just amazing. Congratulations to Greg!
I see the heron! Great picture! And congratulations to your husband! So glad you had a good weekend and an especially good day today. Praise the Lord.
I think we have one of those keep moving signs in Houston. Will try to remember where. I remember wondering what it could possibly mean if you’re in a traffic jam, you can’t keep moving lol.
