Hello everyone! I hope you all have made nice memories with family and or friends over Thanksgiving. We had a surprise guest for our meal. We thought it would only be our son, but he asked first, and then brought his new girlfriend with him. This relationship has developed fairly recently and pretty intensely, which hubby and I understand because that is how it happened with us way back in 1988!
Our dog, KK, sure gave her blessing. I kid you not that KK is basically my shadow. But within a minute of them arriving and sitting down, KK flew off the couch where she was half on my lap, and scrambled up and plopped herself half on girlfriend's lap on the opposite couch. It was very funny but girlfriend was very accommodating!
She helped me with the remaining part of preparing the meal, and actually did the mashed potatoes when I asked, as that was always Morgan’s specialty. She was very easy to talk with, and I warned her I’d picked out a specific prayer which includes the loss of a loved one, and that I might get weepy when I read it, and apologized ahead of time, but again, her empathy was evident. That is one reason they click. Evan is also extremely empathetic.
After the prayer, which I indeed read weepily, but ended by announcing I also knew she was with us in spirit - hubby, Evan, and I all took turns telling Morgan stories, which we have not done much of. It felt great. It felt like she was with us (but couldn't defend herself - haha). Alex, if you are reading this, do you remember 3-year old Momo hiding your underwear? That was one Hubby told. (Alex was our exchange student from Germany who lived with us the whole school year 2001-2002)
As many readers know, it was over a year of praying for our son to find the right job and move closer to us, which finally happened in July when he moved to Nashville. I always included a prayer for the right woman to come into his life. I am so thankful God worked out the situation as he has.
I wasn't sure when I would post again, but two additional circumstances made me realize posting about prayer tonight is the right thing to do.
Hubby found out today a very good older friend of his has been suffering in the hospital for about a week now. Hubby specifically asked me to get as many prayer warriors out there as I could, so what better way than this? His name is Willy. If you feel the Spirit tapping you, please ask for more time, a complete recovery, if it is His will. Thank you in advance!
Yesterday, one of my Ohio prayer warrior dear friends sent the below clip which is an NDE where the woman was shown how prayer “works.” I’d once watched a similar one where instead of light, it was described with musical notes. It’s probably both or either. They are representations of the concept.(Length at normal speed is about 17 minutes long)

The Message Isaiah 55: 8-11
8-11 “I don’t think the way you think.
The way you work isn’t the way I work.”
God’s Decree.
“For as the sky soars high above earth,
so the way I work surpasses the way you work,
and the way I think is beyond the way you think.
Just as rain and snow descend from the skies
and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth,
Doing their work of making things grow and blossom,
producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry,
So will the words that come out of my mouth
not come back empty-handed.
They’ll do the work I sent them to do,
they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.
I love this post, friend❤️
Praying for Willie, praying for your son, praying for your book. For readers out there, I am very much enjoying it, about 70 pages in, and I wish the teens of today could all get someone, or a personal relationship with God, that would help them develop discernment - all of which I see playing out in The Rebel's Hike. Full review to come when I finish the book. Oh, amd I am so glad you had the opportunity to share stories about Morgan. Continued blessings this holiday season!
