Very busy day today, so I didn't get to go for a walk until dinnertime. Since rain was pushing into the area near my usual walks, I headed back out to Cathedral Caverns, fifteen minutes in the opposite direction. I hadn't eaten since a late breakfast/early lunch.
I still only walked on the paved road to begin with instead of the trails. I usually walk toward, then up, quite a steep paved road, but instead I walked in the opposite direction up a road I only traveled once, with Rock 3 on the first walk a week after Morgan's death. There are some small cabins there somebody rents out.
No internet, no downloaded music, no phone, and no deep thoughts. Mostly I thought about food in one way or another I think. Now in the other direction again, passing the car, and up a less steep paved road intersecting one trail, I heard a rustling noise and caught a deer just out of the corner of my eye. After walking another thirty yards, it then ran across our road up ahead.
It just makes me feel good whenever I see deer. How about you?
Back the other direction, we passed the car again and then back up toward the cabins. As we headed back down, two more deer ran from one set of trees across a small clearing into another set of trees. Deer are a mood lifter, yes, and I need that this week.
Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
Isaiah 35:6 NIV
It is so true, we see deer all the time, but you get so excited every time! (Except when they are in your backyard eating your tomatoes!)
I love the scripture you chose. Thank you for the thought you put into each one. Glad you had a pretty good day.
