Some of you probably read these and think, “wow, she sure thinks deeply a lot”, or maybe even that I think weird things. Maybe I do, but I can't help it. It isn't all related to Morgan's death, although now I have a deeper perspective on how God is in every detail than I ever acknowledged previously.
So on the theme of how seeing the heron was all about timing, I've got a new timing story. Today's weather was BEAUTIFUL in Huntsville. The trees are budding and flowering here a month earlier than last year. I couldn't wait to get out there and walk today. I did the walk where I dig my hole, which I did for a whopping ten seconds. I think it's about right now. Here's a pic. (I have absolutely no clue what that bluish strap in the picture is. I didn't notice it “in person.”)
So I walked and then to get back to my car I had to cross train tracks which is usually no problem on the street, but they are building a second track or maintenance or something and I heard a train whistle and didn't want to have to wait to cross because it's very loud and very long - usually. So the dog and I quickly scrambled across the track before the street where the gates were down. After crossing I saw it wasn't a real train, but a maintenance track type vehicle, so I could have waited, but I just went on instinct and history.
So truthfully in this spot I'm actually on somebody's property, and although I don't know them, we are friendly because first, in this tiny rural town I live in, 99% of the people I come across ARE friendly, and second, their dog Andy, who I called Eddie forever, likes to come greet me and my dog and walk with us for a bit. Andy is the only dog my dog likes or at least ignores. Every other dog gets barked at. It's very strange.
But the young man chatted with me for a minute and off I went. Five minutes later I'm in view of where I park and a car slowed down, a window rolled down, and there was my pottery friend!
She probably drives down that street a few times a year, tops, if I had to guess, but she'd been at the post office and wanted to check out the cute little antique store close by.
So that stretch was maybe an 8th of a mile we could have possibly run across each other. It made us both happy! Timing! People in your path. Be open. Be observant. You never know who or what God has arranged for you to see. Is it all just coincidence?
Speaking of my pottery friend, I think tomorrow you will get to see her finished execution of the vision I had for the urns. She sent me pics yesterday and I was blown away. We'll see if something else comes up or it can be tomorrow.
If you are new here, welcome. Use this spot for anything you'd like to bring up in grief or support others with anything you have to offer.
