Anybody who has read my first post knows I referred to certain people as my Rocks. These people were there for me 100% of the time, and I still know they were each a big part of helping me survive that first week especially.
One of them, Rock 2 to be exact, and I almost always text each other first thing in the morning just to share our wordle score for that day. You can send a share that shows the letters you got right and almost right, without revealing the actual words.
First pic is mine today and second pic is her’s. If anybody else plays and knows today's word, I was actually trying to give her a clue with my comment.
Her comment said we must have started with the same word, and guess what? We had! We both just start with whatever random word pops into our heads, but we did choose the exact same word today - “Shape”! That was just a very good start to the day!
After my first couple busy hours of work, I caught myself with a certain song in my head. (Rock 5 had originally sent me the song sometime the first week.) I'd never heard it at that time, but have listened to it occasionally since then. It's a song that always makes me cry and I'm using it as the last song at Mo's Celebration of Life. I worked a little more, got up to get a fresh cup of coffee, and I caught myself humming it again. I realized what I needed to do. As long as the song was sticking around, it was time to organize the pictures that were going to go with it into a movie/project.
I took the dog for the walk on the route with The Spot, but didn't need to stop and dig because I think it's finally ready. Listened to the song a couple times near the end of the walk and pictured in my head what pictures I planned to use. Tears. I had a couple hours free to put it together, which meant I had to listen to the song and see these wonderful pictures probably ten times to get it right. Tears, tears, tears! 😭 It wiped me out for the rest of the day.
It's pretty darn good and I'll post it here sometime after April 8th. I probably won't even watch it myself again until then.
The rest of the program is speakers with pictures that will be showing behind them while they speak. One song in the beginning and one song in the middle.
This particular song is on YouTube of course and I am a big comment reader, of which there may be thousands of comments to this one because it’s been up for many years. I invited a couple commenters to this blog and hope they will find it helpful. I'm praying for them, and even though you are just hearing about them through me, please think about saying a prayer for God to bring these people at least one or two Rocks in their lives. They need them. Pray to give these people strength and rest.
Use this Open Thread any way you'd like. Memories, worries, anecdotes, prayers, questions? Hang in there!
Memorial sounds perfect! Thinking of you every day.
