Being observant can be a great gift when feeling down. I am already doing better, and I attribute the upward momentum to focusing on Who God Is and all that I do not understand about this world. I decided to re-read what I had posted about Mother's Day last year, and I’d actually done much better because I had been focusing on how inescapably amazing God is in “Another Science-y Post.” When I write using my phone, the link doesn't work right, so I’m doing it the other way due to laziness of not wanting to go to the computer to do it. Some of you will enjoy re-reading this post, and others may be in for a real treat if you click through.
(Continuing today’s post) But yesterday as I took my walk through historic Gurley, I ended up waving twice (each direction) to a couple gentlemen just shooting the breeze on their front porch. This is a fairy regular occurrence. Sometimes we call out a greeting, sometimes it’s just a wave, but it felt so wonderful to have these people “love on me” for those seconds. It’s just old-school humanity. One of these days when they're out, I will actually stop to talk and find out their names. It’s time.
This afternoon I had to go to Sam's Club to get our tires rotated. On the way there I passed a newer strip mall with a little restaurant that had just opened called City Bowls I think. I determined to pick up our dinner from there when I was on my way back. I figured it was a variation of Chipotle or Bibibop, but it turned out to be fruit related. As I was getting back in my car, I noticed an age mid-20s gal eating her bowl while sitting in her car. It totally made me picture Morgan because she told me she did that fairly often (and I with her on occasion). It made me smile with how eccentric Mo could be, and I was happy having observed this girl do it, too, for some reason.
I guess I’m over the worst of it again. I’d still be happy if my number comes up soon, but I also feel like some amazing things are going to take place when “The Rebel’s Hike” gets published this summer.
Anyhow, be observant! You never know what innocuous thing you might see or experience that lifts your spirit. In addition, you just might be the friendly face someone else needs.
I always eat in my car when on the fly, lol! Your number is not up yet, you have so much more impact to make, your book is one of them (I can’t wait to read it), Sharing your faith in God with all of us is another, and just being a damn good role model for all of mankind is another. The other thing is we need to meet up again ( numerous times) so I can give you that big hug❤️
I totally remember your post last year and really enjoying that video. I’m glad you reposted it to remind me. I ended up watching several others last year. Glad you are feeling better. And love the scripture you chose!
